Designed to support paving slabs, especially for terraces for pedestrian circulation (no vehicles).
The screw jack pedestal is used to adjust and level slabs continuously and without effort.
This operation is done without modifying the slab, the base or the pedestal head. It is done by adjusting the screw by hand or with a special spanner delivered in every box.
It can be placed on concrete sealed with one or two or coats, asphalt and any other suitable surface.
Technical information
Our pedestals conform to all the standards of the CSTB reference document DTU 43-1, “Specialised guide for sealing systems and slabs on pedestals”.
We have a compression test certificate for screw jack pedestals issued by a specialised laboratory. The test certificate is issued on request.
The screw jack pedestal is composed of:
1- a weight distribution plate (contact surface on sealing > 300cm²).
2- a slab support head > 100 cm² with a 4 fins at 90° to provide a regular gap of about 3 mm between the slabs.
The purpose of the gap is to allow the rapid removal of water on the surface, and to prevent cigarette, cinders from barbecues, etc. falling on the sealing membrane.
3- a nut used for micrometric adjustment. The height of the pedestal can be adjusted by hand or at a distance using a sickle spanner.
To install the terrace, plan for an average consumption of 7 pedestals per m² when using 40/40 cm slabs, and 5 pedestals per m² for 50/50 cm slabs.
The special spanner allows easy adjustment of the pedestal nut up a distance off 50 cm.
